A Two-Sided Solution: How Mount North Capital Connects Passive Capital with Active Opportunity

Mount North Capital is a 506(c) fund offering accredited investors strong returns—without getting their boots dirty. Here’s how the model brings both sides together.

When we first launched Mount North Capital, the initial mission was simple: provide capital to tax deed investors who needed fast, same-day funds to compete at auctions.

It was born from necessity—traditional banks didn’t want to touch tax deed financing due to title insurability issues, and we saw firsthand how this limited even the most capable investors.

But something else happened as we grew the fund—something we didn’t initially plan for.
We discovered there were two very different types of people interested in this space:

Two Sides of the Same Investment

On one side:
You have operators—the people who love being on the ground, walking properties, bidding at auctions, fixing up homes, and flipping them.
They know their market. They know what works. But often, they lack sufficient capital to scale.

On the other side:
You have accredited investors—doctors, lawyers, executives—who are interested in the returns from distressed real estate but don’t have the time or interest to be in the weeds.
They want exposure to this asset class… but not the workload.

That’s Where Mount North Capital Comes In

As a 506(c) private placement fund, Mount North Capital is only open to accredited investors. It’s not a public offering.
And that’s intentional—it allows us to stay lean, move quickly, and match capital with opportunity in a way that benefits both parties.

  • Active investors bring the expertise and local execution
  • Passive investors bring the capital
  • Mount North Capital connects them both

It’s a clean model, and it’s worked incredibly well.

The Best Solutions Aren’t Always Planned

We didn’t set out to build a matchmaking engine between real estate operators and passive capital.
But as we raised funds starting in 2019–2020, it became clear that this alignment was natural, scalable, and powerful.

Now, whether you're someone who wants to invest passively in distressed real estate, or someone on the ground who knows how to make these deals work—there’s a place for you inside Mount North Capital.

That’s the kind of synergy we’re proud to build at Last Best Partners.
